Missions Prayer Meetings
Why It Matters
Many churches want a stronger missions heartbeat, but they often need a simple, practical way to involve more people in that burden. The Missions Prayer Meeting gives pastors and church leaders a clear path to help their people move from general interest in missions to intentional prayer, greater involvement, and long-term vision for the world.
This is more than another meeting on the calendar. It is a way to help the local church:
-
develop a burden for souls around the world
-
build a stronger missions culture
-
engage families, teens, and adults in the Great Commission
-
create space for God to call missionaries and laborers
-
support the church’s overall missions program through prayer and participation

My Story
Jonathan Anderson’s Story

Jonathan Anderson began his first Missions Prayer Meeting in 2005 with a simple burden: to gather believers in the local church to pray specifically for the world and ask God to send laborers into His harvest.

Over the years, God has used those prayer meetings to stir hearts and call young people and believers into ministry and missions. As a result of churches praying together for the nations, God has called laborers to places such as:

-
China
-
New York
-
Mexico
-
Africa

This ministry opportunity is built on a conviction Jonathan has seen firsthand:

When a church begins to pray for the world together, God often begins to call people from that church into the work of the world.
